At takeoff and landing, variations in ambient pressure put our ears to the test. In some cases, pressure can cause what is called barotrauma.

Special hearing protectors for aircraft Quies prevent pain in the eardrum caused by these pressure changes. Made of flexible silicone, they contain a ceramic filter which promotes a gradual exchange of air over several minutes. The eardrum, which is a thin flexible membrane, gradually adapts to the new pressure, without suffering the shock imposed by changes in altitude. This patented process was developed with the help of US Navy pilots.
